Carlton Hotel. Food was okay and the company was fantastic. Already

NLCS Game 3

Incredible outing by the Phils allaround. Almost removes the bitter
taste of the Birds' loss.

The Phils scored more points against one of the NL's best teams than
the Eagles did against one of the NFL's worst. Sigh, even on good days
it's hard to be a Philly sports fan.

Barton Springs

This shot doesn't really do it justice, but this was a really nifty
swimming hole in Austin. It's fed by the same spring that supplies the
city's drinking water! (as I understood it). Definitely stop by and go
for a dip if you're in Austin. Now on to oysters, champagne, and
Mexican food!

Day 2 in Texas = much better! This picture of the state capital is
from my post training class run, I had a great dinner downtown at
Louie's 106, and I got to walk around a bit.

New Shoes

Pete's not Stef's. Real grown up shoes. Like maybe the first shoes
I've owned that I can't wear with jeans. The perfect way to celebrate
the 4 weddings and 6 days of job interviews I've been to this summer!
(grumble, grumble, lateness grumble)

Palace of Fine Arts

Stef and I went on a photographic expedtion today to get some stock
images for various wedding stuff. This won't make that cut, but I
thought it was kind of cool.

Curling comes to CA!

Probably the best rock I threw all day, knocked out the other team's
rock and gave us the lead.

Trivial

Pepe Sanchez Fan Club takes 2nd place at Mad Dog in the Fog trivia
night. Free pitcher!

The Theater!

A Brief Encounter at A.C.T with the Vacaville Culture Club. Phenomenal
show, first US run of the stage adaptation. Very musical, great stage
effects, overall delightful. Drinks afterward at Lefty O'Douls with
the gang.

Woke up from a nap to find 3 of Pete's road trip friends looming over
me.

Lunch in Sausalito

We stopped and had lunch after meeting with a wedding photographer.
Lighting precluded our presence in the pic, but we sat next to the
window and had this stunning view, and a decent lunch too.

I ran with my former boss, Judy. We did 41: & change for 3.5mi, but I
think we were at least 5 minutes in before we crossed the start.

The camping mess is finally cleaned up! Except for a water filter that
needs some repair and Stef's reading homework assignment. (2 weeks
after we got back)

Opening Day

Big wins for the Birds, Niners, Phils, and the good (SF) Giants. Great
sports day all around! (despite pending losses for my fantasy football
teams, and Stef's team trailing going into tonight)
